Upcoming Teacher Workshop: December 1-2, 2018
Louisiana Sea Grant is co-hosting a teacher workshop highlighting the unique ecology, engineering and hydrology that exists in the Atchafalaya Basin. Together, we will explore the Atchafalaya from the top to the bottom, learning about its unique natural habitat and pilot lessons that can be used to highlight the importance of this region.
This program is provided at no cost to the participant. All accommodations, meals, activities and transportation for this two-day retreat are provided. Space is limited, registration is required.

SATURDAY
10:00 am - Group 1 meets at LSU. Personal vehicles will be left overnight on campus
10:30 am - Group 1 drives to Atchafalaya Welcome Center
11:00 am - Group 2 meets at Atchafalaya Welcome Center.
11:30 am - Lunch at Atchafalaya Welcome Center
12:30 pm - Drive to Henderson, LA
1:00 pm - Afternoon canoe trip in Atchafalaya Swamp
3:30 pm - Education Lesson Demonstration
4:30 pm - Drive to Hotel
6:00 pm - Dinner
7:30 pm - Coastal Restoration Activity
SUNDAY
7:00 am - Breakfast
8:00 am - Drive to boat launch
9:00 am - Boat Trip to Wax Lake Delta
9:30 am - Explore Wax Lake Delta (from land and water)
12:00 pm - Return to boat launch
12:30 pm - Lunch
1:00 pm - Final Discussion
2:00 pm - Return to Vehicles
